Research shouldn’t stop at the paywall โ or at the district line.
Research for Bangladesh trains and places research fellows inside National University-affiliated colleges, so students there encounter research and postgraduate study as achievable โ not distant.
Our Commitment
Education in Bangladesh is too often treated as a transaction โ a route to a job, or to a marriageable profile โ rather than a path to knowledge. That belief does the most damage exactly where it should matter least: in the National University-affiliated colleges where most students who survive the system end up. Research for Bangladesh exists to change what those students believe is possible for them.
The Gap We’re Closing
30 โ 9. A single grade-6 classroom at JAAGO’s Gaibandha branch, one year apart. Poverty and early marriage were the reasons given โ but underneath sat a belief that continued education wasn’t worth the cost, because no family had ever seen where it leads.
~15%. The rise in engagement and retention when national curriculum content was adapted to students’ own culture and circumstances, working with local coordinators.

The Pilot
Testing AI-assisted research methods with Bengali public-interest newsroom, before bringing the same method into colleges.
The Founding Cohort
